Filming took place during the first week of August, 2009. 08/03-08/07/2009.

The episode starts off with Michael meeting Gilroy at a hotel’s hot tub. This was filmed at the Raleigh on Miami Beach. 1775 Collins Ave. The Raleigh Hotel was also seen in the movie Fair Game where Cindy Crawford and William Baldwin went to hide out.

After his meeting with Gilroy in the hot tub we next see Michael outside his apartment. This of course, was filmed at the rear of the C.G.C.C. Studio.

Then we go inside the studio to the set of Michael’s apartment where we see Larry. We learn Larry has used Michael’s name to rip off a drug cartel and now they are after Michael.

From there we go to Fiona’s place. This may be the apartment at 3162 Jackson Ave., but it looks like a set as does the neighbor’s apartment where they put the body on ice.

The difference in vegetation (more now to hide that it is just a set) and missing railing convince me that they built a set for filming at Fiona’s.

Ep. 37 Long Way Back

Then we go to Madeline’s house where we learn that Nate is married. This was filmed on the studio set.

Next we go to the cartel’s flop house. Thanks to Karendipitee on the USA Burn Notice Forum we know this was filmed on Elizabeth Street in the Grove. The second house south of Day Ave., on the west side of the street.

Fiona and Sam are parked on Day Ave. watching the house.

Then Sam leaves to go help Michael by obtaining flight plans. This was filmed next to the studio at 3400 SW 27th Avenue, Sam exits the rear of the Dinner Key marina Building.

Then we go to Fiona’s (I believe a set) where we learn who is after Michael and that there is another target at the Hotel Victor.

Then we go to the Hotel Victor. The Hotel Victor was used in episode 8, Wanted Man where the owner, Lawrence Henderson was a thief that Michael took down. The Hotel Victor is located on Deco/Ocean Drive at 12th Street in South Miami beach (sobe).

There we meet Larry’s front man, the target.

They take a quick exit via the pool.

Then we go to Fiona’s where they establish a game plan.

Then they orchestrate a fake Justino sighting at the Iguana Bar on South Beach. Location unknown.

Then we go to pay a visit to Carlos. This was filmed in the Grove at Grove Place, SW 27th Ave at Aviation Ave.. Somehow removing 1 spark plug from his car magically made the car not start, Hollywood magic.

Then we go to Madeline’s house where Nate and Ruby or Ruth are trying to convince her to move to Vegas.

From there we go to Fiona’s where Michael ends up shooting Larry in the hand to stop him from killing Jack.

Next we return to the Hotel Victor. There Carlos and Michael watch and listen to Jack as he sets up Justino for the theft.

Miami Vice used this same location for a somewhat similar scene. In episode 25, Out Where The Buses Don’t Run, Crockett and Tubbs pull up and park at the same location in front of a much smaller Hotel Victor. They are doing surveillance on a drug deal. The difference is they are also being watched.

Then we cut to Fiona’s neighbor’s bathroom where Larry shows up. Claiming he is there to help get Justino ready but what he really did was fill Fiona’s head with anger toward Mike so she would be out of play and not help Michael.

From there we go to Madeline’s house for an interesting family dinner.

Next we go to Michael’s where Sam has deduced what flight Gilroy is after.

Next we go to a vacant lot on the bay where Michael has dead Justino set up. Thanks to GEJedi on the USA Burn Notice Forum (http://forums.usanetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=392377&st=1060) we know this was filmed off SW 37th Ave in Coconut Grove. The entrance to the lot is located where Sam was waiting for the bus in episode 40, opposite Pine Ave.

We see Justino in the car but when Carlos opens fire the car is empty.

As Carlos is leaving we get a brief glimpse of the safe house at the end of Stewart Ave., from episode 36, Friends like these.

Then we see Michael return to his place after not being able to reach Fiona and Sam on the phone. There he meets with Larry.

Then we see him inside cleaning his sidearm. Nate arrives and Michael learns that Larry has isolated him from his friends.

Then Michael meets with Larry at a little beach cafe. Location unknown. Possibly filmed at the Raleigh Hotel but I will have to go there to verify.

The meeting breaks up and Michael calls Sam. Sam is on Miami Beach near Lincoln Road. I took a matching picture of the location 8 years ago before Sam was there.

Next we go to Michael’s apartment (set) where they find the 2 million USD in Michael’s heavy bag.

Then we see Michael and Larry back at Carlos’ place (27th Ave. at Aviation Ave., Coconut Grove). There they plant a binary liquid bomb in the trunk of Carlos’ car. Except if you pause on the “bomb” that is only briefly shown, it looks nothing like a binary liquid bomb.

After turning the tables on Larry we go to South Beach, Deco and 12th Street. There Michael sees Jack off making sure he knows never to return.

Then we go to Madeline’s house where she is happy to have Nate take his new wife and leave.

Then we return to the Raleigh Hotel on SoBe. There Michael delivers the flight plan to Gilroy and keeps him on the hook. The episode ends at the Raleigh as Michael walks out with Sam and Michael ask Sam for his help, again.
