 EPISODE 47

  MADE MAN

HOME

Original air date:  06/17/2010

Filming for this episode took place from March 15 thru 23.

The episode starts out with our gang meeting with Jesse at Carlito’s, set at the rear of the C.G.C.C. Studio.

This leads us to the Port Of Miami on Dodge Island. Here Jesse is asking around and getting nowhere but ends up assisting a security guard. This ends the teaser. This scene was filmed on location at Dodge Island. Miami Vice used this port in several episodes including Tale Of The Goat and Heart Of Darkness.

Act 1 opens with the gang still at the port. Here they agree to help the security guard, Hank with his problem and we get some nice views of the port.

Then we go to Nemo’s to check out what the gang is up against. 100 Collins Ave. on South Beach. This was also seen in several episodes of Vice and at one time was the address with more police calls than any other in the city for disturbances and violent crimes.  At the time it was a flop house for illegal immigrants that had made it ashore.

Then we go to Madeline’s. The exterior establishing shot was of course taken on NW N. River Dr. at NW 9th Ct. on “Maynard’s Island”.

Then we go inside (studio set).

Then we go inside Michael’s loft (set) where Michael makes a gross looking bug.

Then we return to Nemo’s where Michael plants his dirty bug.

Then we go to the Rickenbacker Causeway, to the U-turn area under the bridge. We have seen this area used in several episodes of Miami Vice as well as in episode 6 of Burn Notice, Unpaid Debts. They know Michael is not who he said he was and Michael has to extricate himself.

As seen in Unpaid Debts

Then we return to Nemo’s where we listen in on the bug. They park in the complex directly across 1st Street from Nemo’s

Then we see Jesse meet with Hank the client. This was filmed on the SE corner of the intersection of Jefferson Ave. and 1st Street in South Miami Beach.

Then we go to Madeline’s house (set) where Jesse is now staying.

Then we go to a nightclub where Sam and Jesse drug and kidnap Tony. This was filmed on set inside the C.G.C.C. Studio.

Then we go to a hotel room where Sam sets Tony up. This was filmed at Opa-locka Airport on a set within a hangar.

Then we go to Michael’s loft (set) where he gets a call from Sam who is outside Nemo’s.

Fiona arrives on the scene at Nemo’s to plant a little distrust into the picture.

Then we cut to Diner Key Marina, pier 6 by the studio where Sam has a meet with Tony.

Then we cut to Carlito’s (set) for a group meeting with the client.

Then we see an flyover, establishing shot of the Port Of Miami. Then we see Jesse, Sam and Tony at what is set up to be the port. Only it is very obvious, despite a descent attempt by the set dressers, that they are at an airport. We see hangars, a control tower, and even a sign that reads M.D.A.D. (Miami Dade Aviation Department) gate 140 and 44 Ave. This was filmed at Opa-locka airport which stood in as a Nigerian airport in the Pilot. The new control tower is seen under construction behind Sam.

Then we go to Madeline’s garage (set) where Jesse calls Michael at his loft (set).

Then we see Michael and Jesse together inside an airport hangar. This was filmed at Opa-locka Airport but the exact hangar is unknown.

Next we see Fiona and Sam with Hank out on the south side of Dodge Island/Port Of Miami with Fisher Island in the background.

Then the team meets up with Tony at the site of the heist. In reality this is not the port but was filmed at Opa-locka Airport.

Michael shoots out the tire on the security vehicle at the intersection of NW 150th Road and Hoxey Road.

The heist appears to go well until Jesse’s input of Sam’s SEAl story backfires and causes Tony to return to save Sam.

We then go to Michael’s loft (set) where they decide they need an army.  This leads us to the front of the studio where we see the army.

They hit the road to finish Tony off by fake attacking his boss and leaving Tony hanging. This was filmed on Fisherman Street at Opa-locka Airport in Opa-tisha-woka-locka Florida. Opa-tisha-woka-locka is native American, and means high land north of the little river on which there is a camping place. It was filmed in the famous SE corner where episodes of Miami Vice like Evan used the Blimp Hangar for the famous banana warehouse scene in the teaser.  Bad Boys used the Hangar and blew it up in the climax of the movie.  Now we see the climax of this episode filmed here.  Michael and Fiona are atop the building at the old entrance to Eagle Plaza.  Film makers seem to like the roof tops in this area as Crockett and Tubb were perched atop the General Dollar Stores warehouse mere yards away in the teaser of Evan.

Then we head to the port with Hank to wrap things up. This was filmed on the south side of Dodge Island.

Then we go to Carlito’s where the foursome have drinks and continue their work.

We then cut to the outside of Michael’s loft (set at rear of studio) where Madeline confronts him and gives him a “talkin’ to” about Jesse.

Sadly the old control tower which we see the top of in this episode and that played a major role in the Pilot movie as the Nigerian airport, has been torn down along with the attached building.
